Session 8 - Email

Coming out of study this past Monday I received a call from a friend who saw the posting listed below on Facebook an hour earlier.

"hi gang I assume some of you but not all of you will get this. This is my last post. I want everyone to know that I will always love my wife with all my heart (she still gives me butterflies when I see her) and I care for everyone on my friend's list in one way or another. I am sorry if I ever was anything less than a friend to you. See you on the other side. Jesus loves you."

My heart broke. This had been posted by a wonderful friend of ours which we had the opportunity to share life together in a home team and whom had moved out of state a couple of years back. I called his number - voice mail., I called his wife - talked with her told her to let him know we love him, we want the best for him and didn't want him to do what he said he was going to do. In the meantime, calling the sheriffs office and had them dispatched to the last address that we were aware of for him. But, most importantly called prayer warriors to be in intercession for him. I am grateful to report that he's ALIVE!! Thank you Lord!

Which brings me to Day 2 of homework this week, talking about a couple of ways God prunes us. One of which is various trials. We all go through trials throughout our life. The purpose is to prove and increase our strength and quality of our faith and demonstrate it's validity. We have the choice to either pass or fail the test. God says he doesn't test us above what we are able to handle. If we choose not to trust and lean on Christ, it gives Satan a wide open door to turn that test into a temptation. A temptation to believe our situation is hopeless which can lead down the road to what our friend felt on Monday night.

God tells us to ask for wisdom - wisdom that is from above to enable us to understand and gives us the practical ability/skill that is necessary to live a life for God's glory. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! I pray that whatever our situation or circumstance is a the present time that we don't feel the hopelessness that would bring about such dispair and distress.

2 Cor 12: 9 - And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me! Because of this, I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, than I am strong.

Mark on your calendar's March 15th for our Celebration Dinner! This will be a potluck - I know in the past we have had the wonderful delight of tasting some amazing foods and I don't doubt it will be the same. I'll have a sign up sheet next Monday at class.

God bless you in your study this week! I'm praying for all of you, that you will grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Session 7 - Email

To KNOW the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled With ALL the fullness of God - Eph. 3:19

Oh, that we would truly comprehend in totality His precious love He has for each of us. That is my prayer so that we will be so compelled by His love that we are totally dominated by Him with nothing left of ourselves.

Like Beth said in Session 7 - we are to be decisive - make the choice. God placed us here for this time in history to make a difference for His kingdom. Not only placed us here but has given us the power through Jesus Christ to accomplish His will. The same POWER that raised Him from the dead. Now, that's some mighty power wouldn't you say?

God bless you this week in homework - I LOVE day 2! I'm getting ready to start day 4 but I've enjoyed the first three days of homework. I loved seeing in Day 3 the three places in scripture in which ark is referenced. Awesome to see! I won't give it away in case you aren't there yet - you will enjoy it I know!

God bless you with the spirit of wisdom, and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may KNOW what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe according to the working of His mighty power. Eph 1:17-19

Session 6 - Email

It was wonderful seeing all of you in class Monday night after the Christmas/New Year's break! Man, I missed you and getting into God's word together! Wasn't Session 6 powerful? It gave me a new perspective in looking at adversity in my life - that God chose that for me.

I cling to His promise in Isaiah 43:1-4.
Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine:
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not over flow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor, shall the flame scorch you.
For I AM the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior!

What a peace and comfort that brings when going through trials in life. That He is always present and will not allow us to be overtaken. He is our Rock, our Shield, our Strength, our Fortress! An ever present help in time of need! Our High Priest interceding to God the Father on our behalf! Praise HIM!!!!

As we are in week seven of homework, you will love seeing the "reality" in the New Testament of what we have been learning in the Old Testament. Soak it in and enjoy the "perfect" completion of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ!

We have just four more weeks of meeting together - let's finish strong! God will bless your time as you spend in study with Him getting to know him better!

Thank you for the blankets for the Phoenix Rescue Mission!!! That was terrific! We will continue on the 25th to collect those. So, any you might be able to donate would be greatly appreciated!

More Updates

I'm excited to see all of you tomorrow night, January 11th for Session 6! The Christmas and New Year's have flown by and I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone's holiday season was this year.

Just a reminder about the blanket drive for the Phoenix Rescue Mission. Bring one or as many as you might want to part with - gently used/clean blankets or new ones to help offset the cold winter nights for those in need!

I thought Pastor Greg's ending verse was very appropriate for us!

Heb. 10:24-25 - Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.

God bless all of you above and beyond what you can imagine!

Updates

Happy New Year! How are you doing on your homework? Did you wait until this week to get your homework done before class on Monday? No guilt - I'm just excited and can't wait to continue studying togther! Session 6 for Jan. 11th is an amazing one - you won't want to miss it! It will give you insights and blessings for your life that are truly powerful.

A couple of things I wanted to mention before class on Monday.

1. Phoenix Rescue Mission Blanket Drive. If you would like to bring a gently used clean blanket or blankets to class on Monday for the Phoenix Rescue Mission, it would be greatly appreciated!. With the cold winter chill at night , they are in dire need of any blankets that you might be able to donate. Feel free to bring new blankets as well.

2. Beth Moore - Tucson March 26th & 27th. If you are planning on attending the Beth Moore conference and are interested in staying overnight in the Tucson area, please let me know. Sarah Lujan has a family member who works for the Marriott and would be able to get a room discount for us but we need to know approximately how many rooms will be necessary. Doesn't need to be a complete confirmation but more "yes" than "no" would be helpful.

Phil 1:3 I thank my God upon my every remembrance on you!

Session 5 - Email

I just wanted to encourage you to "hang" in there through the holiday break. It's so easy to get distracted by everything that is on our plates right now but keep gathering your manna!

I LOVE this time of year - Christmas is such a wonderful time to celebrate the greatest gift of all - Jesus Christ! Yes, we all enjoy receiving gifts I'm sure, but I pray that each one of you have received the greatest gift - a personal relationship with Him. It's one gift that keeps giving and giving and giving! It gives joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, goodness, longsuffering, love, hope, forgiveness, security, reconciliation, comfort, guidance, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and more. I know I LOVE that gift and would be lost without it!

I pray that every one of you has a wonderful Merry Christmas and a safe New Year! Enjoy this break time to spend in personal one on one time with Him. In His presence in the Holy of Holies!

Thank you for taking this journey through the tabernacle together and for making it halfway through! I look forward to seeing what the second half will reveal to us!

Enjoy week 6 of homework which looks at the following:
*The Altar of Incense
*A Hard Lesson in Holiness
*The Inheritance of a Servant
*The Gift of Support
*The Garments of the Priests

Remember John 15:5 - He is our vine!
